Flashback Friday - Missionaries

Elder George Brown, Kristy, Allyson, Farrah, Kay, Earl, Sam & Lauren
When we were growing up we had the missionaries over at least once a week to eat. This is a picture of our family with George Brown when he was serving his mission in Dallas. Our family has remained friends with him for all these years and he came to Dallas a few years ago and spent Thanksgiving with us.

The Race Is On

Tonight was the Pinewood Derby. My dear son made this car all by himself. He designed it and cut it out (his father insisted he could do it-I was freaking out the whole time he was using the saw and almost cutting his fingers off). He painted it and screwed the stuff on. I was very proud of him. He didn't win but when it was over he said, "It is still a really good car". Yes it is Zac, it is a mighty fine car.

Help! I'm Being Eaten By My Chair!

I have been feeding Addison baby cereal by holding her on my lap and feeding her (and then hosing both of us off afterward) or by letting her sit in her little toy thingy and feeding her there. Yesterday I decided it was time for her to sit in the highchair. First I must say she LOVES being up at the table with everyone else during meal time. And second I must say that she is so little tiny and cute in her chair with her head peeking up.

Get A Clue

The theme for the Summer Reading Program at the Library this year is "Get A Clue". They had the big kickoff on Monday night at Wheeler Farm. We took a picnic dinner and ate there. They were giving out these mustaches for people to wear (I guess they were supposed to be like Sherlock Holmes???). Anyway the kids had a great time and we are so excited for summer.

Dance The Night Away

Aubrey: Go To Sleep And Dream

Emily: Summer

The girls had their dance recital Saturday night. It was called Earth Dance. They were both so cute and they did a wonderful job!

I Love You More Today Than Yesterday

June 3rd, 1995

It was 12 years ago today that Stephen and I were married. In some ways it doesn't seem possible that it was that long ago. In others it seems like we have been together our whole lives. I love you Stephen, much, much more than yesterday. I am so thankful for the life we have together. I am so thankful that it is you I will be with Forever.

She Uses Vaaaaaseline

I just want to thank my dear sister Kristy for 2 things. One, thank you for the trip down memory lane. For the last 2 days I have had the Vaseline song going through my head. Ahhhhh....the '90's. And two, thank you EVER so much for the very helpful and timely tip. I went to the store and bought vaaaaaaseline yesterday and I just have to say, it worked wonders on my dry cracked summer sandal wearin' heels. I am now a true believer in the power of using vaaaaaaseline..........

Flashback Friday - Sgt. Peppers Lonely Heart's Club Band

Allyson, Kristy, Farrah, Lauren

Sorry I am a day late with my flashback. I tried yesterday several times and couldn't get our internet to work. So I feel like I need to have a clause at the beginning of all my flashback Friday's that says: please ignore my scary hair, nasty clothes and now please ignore my armature scrapbook pages. These are some of the first scrapbook pages I made and I made them over 10 years ago.
It was 20 years ago today, Sargent Pepper taught the band to play.......
Since the finale of American Idol when the old and new Idols performed a tribute to the Beatles (who are my very most FAVORITE), Sargent Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (which is also my very most FAVORITE) has been going through my head. And that song going through my head made me think of the pictures we took one Sunday, long, long ago where we tried to recreate the Beatles pose on the inside of the album cover. So here they are. Enjoy the craziness of the Snow sisters.
And since we are somewhat on the topic of the American Idol finale, enjoy this performance by Blake (he should have won) and Dougie Fresh. Six minutes, six minutes, six minutes Dougie Fresh you're on.........

WOO HOO!!!

Celebrate good times, come on!
Celebrate Good Times, come on!
There's a party goin' on right here
A celebration to last throughout the year
So bring your good times and your laughter too
We're gonna celebrate and have a party with you
Come on now.....

It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it
AND I FEEL FINE!

I'm free to do what I want any old time
Yes I'm free to do what I want any old time

These are the songs that have been going through my head all week long. And right now:

I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it
I'm about to lose control and I think I like it
Woah a woah......

My alarm went off at 6:00 yesterday morning and I jumped right out of bed with a smile on my face. You see, the beginning of the day yesterday signified the beginning of the end for me. It was field day at the elementary school and not only was it field day, it was my last activity as PTA president. I have been counting down the activities and board meetings for the last few months. Don't get me wrong. I have really enjoyed being PTA president, however....I ain't cryin' about it bein' over! It has just been really hard since Addison was born to keep up with everything. At the beginning of the year I really enjoyed all the activities and things. But since November (2 months into the school year you might note) I have enjoyed them less and less. Every time an activity was coming up it would be really hard for me to get myself worked up enough to make it through. But Field Day was a different story. I have been so busy all week long working on stuff for field day, but I was so happy and so excited for it. I could finally see the end. Anyway, it really was a fun day and I was glad I was able to be there and end my term with a Scha-bang-a-lang. Click here for more pictures.
