Rainy Day Fun

It has been raining all day, except for the time when it was snowing. We were bored sitting around the house so we went bowling. Guess who came in last place? Yep, me. I do have to throw in the fact that my kids were using bumpers and I wasn't. But yeah, they did really good.

DDS (Dumb Dental Stupidity)

Before school started I took the kids to the dentist to get their teeth cleaned. The dentist told me that Zac needed to have 2 fillings done and Emily needed 3. He also said that they each needed 4 sealants done. We made an appointment to come back and they gave me a paper with how much it would cost. It was going to be almost $800 (we don't have dental insurance).

I got home and I remembered that our medical insurance has some type of dental discount with it. I looked it up and sure enough, if we go to certain dentists on their list we get a discount. I looked up the discounts for what my kids needed done and figured I would save about $200. So we cancelled the first appointment we made and scheduled new ones with a dentist on the list.

We went to their new appointment on Tuesday. He looked at the x-rays I brought in and the paper that showed what the other dentist said needed to be done. He looked at the kids teeth and said that he didn't see any cavities and that they each only needed 2 sealants. At first I was like "WOO HOO!!!" 'cause I was so excited about not having to spend a fortune. But then I got really mad at the first dentist we saw for being such and idiot and I asked this dentist why he thought the other one would have told us we needed to have so much work done. He gave me some mumbo jumbo answer and then he said "They are fine until their next check up in 6 months." And I suddenly went, "HUMMMPH?".

What did he mean, "They will be fine until their next check up in 6 months."???? Well our appointments were his last ones for the day and it was 5:30 by the time he finished (our appointment was at 3:00 and it too 2 1/2 hours to do 4 sealants which should take about 15 minutes each). As we were standing at the front desk to pay, he was leaving the office for the day.

So I am really mad right now, and I don't know who to be mad at. Should I be mad at the first dentist because he was trying to do unnecessary procedures on my young children to make an extra buck? Or should I be mad at the second dentist because maybe my kids cavities were really small and he was in a hurry to go home and figured they would be fine until their next visit?

There is a local TV news person who people call when they feel like they are getting cheated. He helps them get to the bottom of it. I am debating weather or not to call him. I don't know, what do you think?

Do you see why I have an EXTREME DISLIKE for dentists???

Flashback Friday - Carriage Ride

Sam, Lauren, Destiney, Scott, Kristy, Zac, Emily, Allyson and Steve
The Snow's were in Utah visiting. Scott and Kristy were still going to BYU Idaho and had come down to visit. We all went to eat at PF Chang's (mmmm....I could use some lettuce wraps right about now) and then took a carriage ride around downtown Salt Lake.

Sam, This Post Is For You!

Apparently Zac told everyone at school today that we have Halo 3 at our house. Because right about dinner time tonight half the neighborhood boys showed up. But never fear, there was plenty of food and violence to go around. They played for about an hour and then Steve and Levi (our neighbor across the street) who up to that point had shown a great deal of restraint, kicked them off. They are playing right now and I am sure the bloodshed will last long into the night.

Something To Sink Your Teeth Into

"About three things I was absolutely certain.

First, Edward was a vampire.

Second, there was a part of him--- and I didn't know how dominant that part might be--- that thirsted for my blood.

And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him."

This is a must read. I just finished it this morning around 1 am. I had never heard of this book until my cousins were telling me about it when we were at a bridal shower. They went on and on about it. I went out to breakfast with a friend of mine a few days later and asked her if she had ever heard of it. She said when she was at girls camp everyone there was reading it. Well my dear mother bought it and started reading it. I saw it in her car and said "AHHH! I want to read that!" and she ever so graciously gave up her copy to me. I started it last Thursday but only got about 3 pages into it. I took it to the doctors office with me on Friday and everyone that saw it stopped me and told me how great it was. I took it to the hospital with me that same day and got the same response. I was excited to read it but really didn't have time that day.

I didn't start reading it again until Saturday and it was so good. I even posted about how I couldn't stop reading it on Monday morning. Then I got to the middle part which I have to admit was a little over the top mushy teenage romance and even though I still enjoyed reading it, it took me a few days to get past that part. Well last I was so exhausted I fell into bed ready to sleep but I thought, I will just read a few pages before I fall asleep. Well HELLO! All the sudden we moved past mushy gushy and by dang if I couldn't stop reading no matter how tired I was. I stayed up 'till 1:00 and finished the last 150 pages.

It is excellent. There are 2 more books in the series that are already published and two more on their way. And they are making a movie about the first book.

It is written for teenagers. It is by an LDS woman although it is not an LDS book. I love it because it is a thrilling love story and it is rated PG. And there are no naughty words. The idea for the book started with a very vivid dream the author, Stephenie Meyer, had one night. This is what she says:

"I know the exact date that I began writing Twilight, because it was also the first day of swim lessons for my kids. So I can say with certainty that it all started on June 2, 2003. Up to this point, I had not written anything besides a few chapters (of other stories) that I never got very far on, and nothing at all since the birth of my first son, six years earlier.
I woke up (on that June 2nd) from a very vivid dream. In my dream, two people were having an intense conversation in a meadow in the woods. One of these people was just your average girl. The other person was fantastically beautiful, sparkly, and a vampire. They were discussing the difficulties inherent in the facts that A) they were falling in love with each other while B) the vampire was particularly attracted to the scent of her blood, and was having a difficult time restraining himself from killing her immediately. " Click here to be linked to her website.

I just started the next book in the series (thanks again mommy!). I highly recommend it. If you are like me and the sappy stuff gets on your nerves, just know that it is worth it to stick it out. And for those of you (you know who I'm talkin' about) who thrive on the sap.....ENJOY!

Oh, and FYI. Her third book that just came out, Eclipse, is the book that knocked the last Harry Potter Book out of the #1 best seller spot!

Monday Morning Musings

When I said to my dear husband, "Honey, we really need to start getting the house ready to put up for sale" I meant something along the lines of finish grouting the tile in the bathroom, actually install the bathroom sink correctly, finish putting in the bottom part of the vanity, put the wood down in our closet, fix the lights in our bedroom, fix that big hole in the floor by the front door (the list could go on and on forever). This is how he interpreted it:

In case you don't know what his interpretation means here is the translation:

"MAKE YOUR WIFE ABSOLUTELY FREAKING CRAZY"

For some reason he thinks that to actually be getting something accomplished you have to take something that is perfectly fine and totally destroy it and then take (don't listen honey) your own sweet little time putting it back together. (Stephen, I love you more than anything in this whole world!) (just wanted to make sure you knew that).

Is it bad to start a sentence by saying, "The next time officer Olsen pulls me over...."??? I mean he has only pulled me over 3 times. In the past year. In the same place. You'd think I'd learn by now.

I am sorry if your children are going to be exposed to my hacking coughing children in school today. They just really needed to go. We have had 3 very quality days smushed up in the house together. It's time to get back to real life no matter how sick we all still are.

I have come to the conclusion that I am not going to get anything done until I finish my book. So I am just going to give up on everything else and read. The problem is it there are 2 more books after it in the series.

PMA (positive mental attitude) is not helping me feel any less sick at the moment.

It is Monday! Time for a fresh start. Everyone have a GREAT week!

Today

It's been one of those days. It has been overcast and raining all day. I love it. That is one of the things I miss the most from the place from which I come. We don't get a lot of those kinds of days here. It has been a lazy day. We haven't done one lick of work (I feel like an old lady saying lick). It has been a snuggling day. We have done a lot of that around here. I am reading a GREAT book which I cannot put down (everyone warned me from the people who suggested it to all the people I saw at the doctors office yesterday and all the people at the hospital and my visiting teachers and so on and so on and so on). Apparently I am the last person in the whole world to read it. But it rains all the time in the book and so today has been a perfect backdrop. I have had the windows open to let the cool breeze come in and to enhance the sound of the rain falling. I made breakfast for dinner and have Carole King playing in the background. I am about to go pick up my book again. Yeah, it's been one of those days.

If It's Not One Thing....

So Addison and I took another little trip to the hospital today. This is her, what? Somebody help me here. I've lost count. One - RSV, two - strawberries, three - skull fracture, four...Ok, this is our 4th time in the last 9 1/2 months since she was born for us to go to the hospital.

It's been a fun day, just let me tell ya. Addison (I still don't know how to spell her nickname, but thanks for the votes!) has had a snotty nose for a few weeks. Then this week she developed a cough. Last night when I put her to bed she sounded really bad so I thought to myself, "Self, you should take her to the doctor tomorrow". Well when she woke up this morning I went to get her out of her bed and she had thrown up everywhere. That's always fun. So I thought I definitely will take her to the doctor today. I made her an appointment. Then I woke the kids up. Emily woke up in major drama mode. She was screaming and crying that she was starving and need to eat RIGHT NOW! I finally settled her down with a bowl of oatmeal which I was just sure she would throw up. Did I mention I was feeling very nauseous myself? Well she ate it and immediately went into drama mode again because she was still hungry and needed more. I tried to tell her she should wait and see if she was going to throw up before she ate more. However there is no dealing with her in that frame mind so I made more oatmeal. Yes, I would much rather clean up throw up than listen to that for one more second. Well, she took about one bite of her second bowl and started heaving, but never actually threw up. Oh, and I forgot to say that Emily has had a bad cough for a few days too. So I figured I would call and add her to the appointment also.

Then Zac started complaining that he felt like he was going to throw up. And he was also hacking away. I was like, OK. This is so much fun. I guess no one is going to school today! Let's all go to the doctor!!! On the way to the doctor, Aubrey started coughing really bad too. But I digress. You are probably wondering how I ended up at the hospital with Addison.

The doctor listened to everyone, swabbed their throats, blah blah blah...It seems like we all just have a virus. A few viruses to be exact. One of the snot kind and one of the vomit kind. Aren't we special? But when she listened to Addison she said she sounded really bad when she listened to her lungs but not bad in her throat or mouth. So she was afraid that she had pneumonia and wanted me to take her right up to the hospital for a chest x-ray. Which I did. And thankfully that came back fine. She just has a yucky virus like the rest of us.

So it has just been a barrel 'O fun around here today. And poor Steve had to miss it all because he is out of town. (He is on his way back at this very moment for any crazy psychopath reading this.) (Ok, truth be told, I am probably the craziest psychotic person reading it. But still.)

Flashback Friday - Football Fever

Bart (hee hee hee- you look like a little boy), Allyson and Farrah

I decided to use this as my flashback picture today because I am just so excited that football season is upon us again (please read that last sentence with sarcasm) (extreme sarcasm). Really I came upon it just now and what with my pizza post the other day and all (sorry I am getting a little misty eyed) I was thinking about how much I miss the good old days when Bart and Farrah were living in Provo going to BYU and I could bug them constantly and not have to do it long distance. (Hee hee hee, I just looked at the picture of baby Bart again).

And Farrah, I am still mad about the cast/chopstick thing even though that was about a thousand years ago!

And That's Why I Drink Bottled Water

As some of you know, my neighborhood has a little twin phenomenon going on. We had something like 5 or 6 sets of twins born in our ward in about a 5 year time period. Being that I live where I live my entire ward consists of about about 6 streets, so that many twins is a big deal. Not to mention all the twins born to people who grew up in this ward and their parents still live here, or all the other sets of twins born in this neighborhood but not in our ward. Zac has 2 sets of twins in his class at school.
Well, it has been a few years since our last set of twins were born in this ward. But all that is about to change. We have a set about to be birthed any day now. And just last week we found out that another girl in our ward is pregnant. And SURPRISE! She is having twins.
When people around here get pregnant people don't ask. "What are you having?" No. They ask, "Do you know how many you're having yet?"

Quick, somebody call Oprah!

What A Girl Needs

So my sister Farrah is the queen of google. I love google too. I use it just about every day. Farrah got the idea from Megan to google your name and the word needs and see what comes up. So since I have nothing else to post about today, here it goes. This is what came up when I googled "Allyson needs":

♥Allyson needs a great deal of closeness and enjoys being read to, cuddled and talked with at bedtime.

♥Allyson needs jones soda.

♥Allyson needs baby chinchilla's?.

♥I think Allyson needs to grow up a little, before making comments like this.

♥Allyson needs money to buy A plane ticket if she does go.

♥Allyson needs the antibodies that you are giving her.

♥Allyson needs some fruit.

♥Allyson needs your help now!

♥Allyson needs corrective lenses.

♥Don't you think Allyson needs to add a few photos?
that same person also said:
Ahhhhhh! Allyson. I soooooo love this girl!

♥Allyson needs limits. Strict limits. If she finds out that you are a sucker, she'll walk all over you.

♥I think Allyson needs to whip out her war chest and quash Raj now.

♥Allyson needs to be at home to feed Julia.

♥Since Allyson needs someones bizznazz to be up in, here it goes.

♥Allyson needs direction on how to use funds.

♥Allyson needs a slapping.

Freak Show

So we went to my parents house yesterday, like we do every Sunday, for dinner. Only this Sunday was a little different from others. The kids got out the Hula Hoops and well, we all took a turn. Except Steve. He just sat back watching. And I am sure laughing. And it was all caught on camera. So everyone can have a good laugh at our expense. Go ahead, laugh away.....

Monday Morning Musings

♦So I got up around 3:30 this morning to feed Addison and I turned on the TV and there was a documentary about synchronized swimming on. It was one of those things where I kept saying, "why the heck am I watching this???" but on the other hand I was going, "these people are such freakazoids I can't stop watching them". Don't get me wrong. My sisters and I used to get in the pool and make up SS (that means sync. swimming dad, nothing to do with the Nazis) routines when we were growing up. But I have to tell you that EVERY PERSON they interviewed was just a tad bit "off". And that is quite possibly putting it mildly.

♦The final Design Star recorded last night while I was sleeping. I have this dilemma. Do I watch it now so I can see who won, or wait for Emily to get home from school and watch it with her? (ARRGGHHH!!! What was I thinking? I just went to the website to get the link to put on here and it had the winner on it! STUPID!)

♦We drove out to our property yesterday and there is an actual paved street now!!!

♦Just how embarrassing would it be if I posted those hula hoop pictures???

♦Aubrey walked in the room this morning and said something to me and I swear it was Farrah 25 years ago.

♦Conversation in my kitchen this morning:
Zac: Mom, are we walking to school today?
Me: Yes.
Zac: Good, I think walking to school is my favorite part of the school year.
Emily: You know what my favorite part is? Going to recess and lying in the grass. I can take a nap and not have anyone singing to wake me up, just the bell.
Me: You know, there are a lot of children in this world who would love to have their mother sing to them to wake them up every morning.
Zac: Yeah, well maybe they don't know how annoying it is.
Me: GASP!!!

I'm Just Settin' Myself Up For This One

When I want a quick easy dinner, we get Little Caesar's or Papa John's. When I am CRAVING pizza, we go for the good stuff. And I was craving it today.
"The Pie"
(yes you heard me right you Maldonado's you!) started out as a hip little pizza joint near the University of Utah with atmosphere and live music. It has long been rumored that they put marijuana in their pizza dough to make it addicting. Anyway they now have several locations. My kids love "The Pie" because they get to write on the walls. I love it for what you can see above. The Extreme Veggie Pizza. Spinach, spicy tomatoes, crumbled feta cheese, sliced red onions and artichoke hearts the size of my fist. Oh yeah. That's what I'm talkin' about. This is a knife and fork kind of pizza. Because no matter how yummy the crust, it can't support the weight of the toppings on this monster. Like I said, I was craving it today. So we loaded up the kids and went there for lunch. Then we took them to see the movie Underdog (which I of course slept through) (You think if I tell them when I buy the tickets that I physically can't stay awake for a whole movie maybe they will give me a discount?). We just got home and I couldn't help myself. I ate another slice. Mmmmmmm.....
Oh, and if you are wondering about the post title, that is a very long running joke betwixt me and a couple other people I know. (if you click on that link you have to go all the way down to the bottom picture)

Children Of A Blogger

The conversation that took place Thursday night as we were making these:

Emily: "Mom, do you remember that one time when I made the ice cream cookies for dessert and you took a picture of them and put them on your blog?"

Me: "Yes, I do."

Emily: "Do you think when we are finished making these, you could take a picture of them and put them on your blog too?"

Me: "Sure, that's a great idea."

Emily: "You could call it 'Creative Girls' , yeah, that is a good name, 'Creative Girls' ".

The conversation that took place yesterday when Emily got home from school:

Me: "So, how was school today?"

Emily: "Good. Mom, did you put the pictures of the things I made on your blog yet?"

Me: "No honey, I'm sorry. I haven't had a chance to" (Thinking to myself: No I haven't had time to because for some reason our stupid school district has early out day's on Friday and so I took you and Zac to school, took Aubrey to preschool, came home and fed Addison, turned right around and picked up Aubrey, ate lunch and now here I am back at the school to pick y'all up.)

Emily: "Well, you are going to put a picture on your blog and call it 'Creative Girls' Aren't you?"

Me: "Yes Emily, as soon as I get a chance I will do that."

So as promised here is a picture of the cute letters Emily made for 2 of her friends (Rylee & Bryttni) who both had birthdays this week. And of course Aubrey couldn't be left out so she made the purple box.

Flashback Friday - Always A Bridesmaid

I LOVE this picture! I think these are the most awesome bridesmaid dresses EVER! I can even remember being in my grandmothers bedroom trying mine on when it was being made. This picture was taken at my Aunt Mickey's wedding (she's the one in white), I am the little one in pink, my mom is in pink, my Aunt Lori is in blue, I believe that is Debbie Raines in orange (she is the mother of my best friend from my teen years). And I know I should know the person in yellow 'cause she looks so familiar, but I don't.

And for all of my concerned Flashback Friday readers who seem to think I have stolen all their pictures- I would like to remind you of what a WONDERFUL daughter you have who made scrapbooks for each of you when you turned 50. I had a ton of people send me pictures for those, which I copied and sent back. Then I made copies of your scrapbooks so I could have my own copy. These pictures are copies of copies which I made and paid for and therefore I have obtained them through legal means. So everybody can just settle down and enjoy!

Take A Vote

As if it wasn't bad enough to go a full week without a name, this cute little baby girl has now gone 9 months without a nickname. Ok, she has a nickname, I just don't know how to spell it
Addie, Addi, Addy?????
therefore I never write or type it, I always use her full name. I don't know. All my other kids names end in y and I go by Ally sometimes so Addy would fit in, but is it weird to spell it that way when her name is spelled Addison? Then you have Addi, is that too cheesy cute? And then there is Addie which I think looks best but I don't know if it is too boring.
So I am asking for your vote. Which one do you like best? Please cast your vote to the left. Polls close Sunday, September 16th at 12:00 midnight mountain time. Vote as many times as you like.
And remember, my daughters future is in your hands. So choose wisely.

Monday Morning Musings

My FASHION statement for the day? Black T SMEARED with baby food.
I had a return of the CRAZIES last night. My dear mother told me about a scary story she heard on the news and it sent me into all out panicked FREAKAZOID mode. I spent about an hour wandering about the house checking and rechecking the doors and windows and house alarm. Yes, we have a house alarm, just in case any crazy scary person is reading this. And I check ALL my windows and doors nightly. I usually have a nice little routine set up, I have a certain order I check them in and particular OCD inspired way in which they must be tested to make sure they are actually locked. That little routine just goes out the window when I am freaked out. I still feel a little shaky today but I am trying to get back in CONTROL.

All of a sudden I have these horrible BAGS under my eyes. Does that mean I am getting OLD?
I am expecting a call from Zac any minute saying his head HURTS and he needs to come HOME from school. What if I don't answer the phone?

As EXCITED as I am about building a house, I am also SCARED to death.

I have a TO DO list for today that is a mile and a half LONG.

The current SONG going through my head? Oh, SUSANNA! Why? I really can't say. It is just there. At least it knocked FABULOUS out.

I am ready for LOST to start again. Does anyone know WHEN that will be?

I have come from ALABAMA with a BANJO on my knee.

Never mind. Fabulous is BACK. I don't know why I played the video when I looked it up to provide the above link but it is back. It has been there for two weeks, 5 days, 4 hours and 22 minutes. Fetch me my Jimmy Choo flip flops, where is my pink Prada tote, I need my Tiffany hair band, and then I can go for a floaoaoat......I am going to lose my MIND.

To Hell In A Handbasket (does anyone actually know what a handbasket is?)

OK. This is hot dog #3 for me. The third hot dog I have eaten in my whole entire life since eating my first on July 31st, 2007. We took the kids up the canyon on Friday night for a little cookout and we cooked, drum roll please.......HOT DOGS. I don't know what my deal is. I still don't know that I could handle your average hot dog. Actually I am pretty darn sure I could not. All 3 hot dogs I have eaten have been Nathan's Kosher hot dogs. I have been told that they are not equal to other hot dogs on the market. I couldn't tell ya. But I do know that this particular hot dog I am eating in the above picture was particularly satisfying. To see the rest of the pictures of our little adventure on Friday click here. They are the pictures at the end of the album.
Just kidding! Click HERE!

Flashback Friday - Cousins

This picture was taken about a hundred years ago. We were having a family picnic at a park. Everyone is so little. We are all so grown up now.

Her Day Has Finally Arrived

My little cutest cutie started Pre-School today. She is so excited. She has been asking me every day for weeks if today was the day she was going to school. And every day I had to tell her no. But today she didn't even ask. She just knew and she got up and got dressed and ready in record time. She loves school and she loves her teacher. Have fun at school little Miss Aubrey Anna. Mommy loves you.

Take A Deep Breath And Sigh......

I am about to post a picture of Aubrey off to her first day of Pre-School. I didn't want to mess that sweet moment up with what I am about to say so I am giving this a post all it's own.

Hallelujah!

Hallelujah!

Hallelujah!

Hallelujah!

Hall
eeeeeee lu jahhhhhhhhh!!!!!

For my children have alllllll gone to school

all gone to school
all gone to school
all gone to school
all gone to school

Ok, so this sounds horrible. I really want you to know that I love my children more than anything. I do. And I am so glad they are mine and I am their mother. I am. I love them. But I also love school. Not near as much as I love the kids. But I do love school. We had so much fun together this summer. We were all over the place. Spending time together, having a blast, making priceless memories. And I can't wait to do it all again next summer. And I am glad next summer is 9 months away.

Yesterday after Aubrey and Addison and I walked Zac and Em to school, Aubrey went home to play with a friend. I took Addison home and fed her and put her down for a nap. I seriously got more done, not accomplished because I feel like I got a lot accomplished this summer, but I got more DONE in the way of cleaning the house, doing paper work, all those types of things, than I did all summer long. And I am looking forward to getting more done today. Maybe I can get things organized around here and actually have a little bit of order going on. That would be nice.

Ok, so I got to go. I have already wasted enough of my precious time.

Have A GREAT Day!!!

I know I will.

Monday Morning Musings

Yes! Finally Addison slept through the night again (something she has been doing since she was 2 weeks old) and she took longer than 1/2 hour nap since we had our little hospital adventure.

It is a little unsettling to have the smoke alarm in your girls room go off at 4 am. Thankfully nothing was actually on fire. But it was a little freaky. I made Steve check downstairs and then feel the ceiling to make sure there wasn't a hidden flame somewhere. And hey, we are all still alive and well this morning!

Ahhh
....Labor Day. No school. And Zac and Emily starting off the day by waking up ready to kill each other. And it has only gotten better......Thankfully they are going 4 wheelin' with Steve and my dad today. What time were they leaving?

Every dentist I have gone to in my adult life has been an idiot. And the one I went to on Friday was the biggest one of all.

I asked Steve this morning if he would consider going back to school to become a dentist. 'Cause as far as I can tell (oh, I can hear Zac and Em going at it upstairs as I type) all you have to do is go to a 3 week seminar and then pay someone a couple hundred bucks for a paper to hang on your wall. (no offense to any dentists reading this) And guess what? Steve said he had been thinking the same thing. He said if that guy I went to was such an idiot, surely HE could be a dentist too. If we were both thinking it, it must be meant to be. I wonder if I can change Zac's mind from paleontologist to dentist. No, I want my son to grow up to be smart.

We set up a folding table in our kitchen last night for Zac's B-day dinner. I am taking bets on how long it will be up before we take it down. Last time it went up it was there for at least 2 weeks. I am betting this time it will be up till Friday.

I ate so many strawberries last night, part of me wonders if it will come out through my milk and if we will end up in the ER again.

I was getting Em Frosted Flakes for breakfast and for some reason I really wanted some. Nasty. I will never make that mistake again.

I think it is a cruel trick to play on mothers. Have kids start school and go for a week and then give them a 4 day weekend. Yeah, they are off tomorrow too for some reason unbeknownst to me.

I would really just like to have 1 day off. One day of not cleaning, cooking, laundry, washing 100 hands and faces. breaking up fights. You know what, I would even settle for 1/2 day. Fat chance.
So, it has been about an hour since I typed this and I feel the need to come back and clarify my last statement. I don't want anyone to think that I am not grateful for the life I have. I LOVE my life. It is the life I have chosen and the life I want and I would not trade it for anything. I just want to do something for one day that doesn't HAVE to be done. Sometime I feel like everything I do is something that HAS to be done and not something I WANT to do. But than that is my own fault for not carving out time for things like that. Anyway, we are getting a little deep for Monday Morning Musings so I better go now. Have a GREAT holiday.

Birthday X 2

We had Zac's party with his friends on Friday, but today is really his birthday. Tonight we had a family party for him. We invited Papa, Grandma, Aunt Lauren and Alice. Zac requested kabobs and angel food cake for his Birthday dinner which he got. And it only took 4 hours or so to make. But it was yummy. Happy Birthday to my baby who is now 10 years old!

“No. They’re not mine. I just go around the neighborhood gathering up kids to take to the grocery store because it’s so much more fun that way.”

My friend sent me an e-mail with this link to an eBay auction. At first I noticed the ridiculous price someone paid for a pack of Pokemon cards. Then I scrolled down and read the story that goes along with it. It is so funny I was laughing the whole time I was reading it. And it reminds me of one of my most recent trips to the grocery store. Anyway, to see the auction click here.
