Webcam Wednesday: Ummm, Yeah, That Really Happened

We went camping last weekend.  We spent one whole day riding ATVs.  While we were stopped for lunch we noticed a doe watching us.  She didn't seem to be scared as we got closer to her to try to take a picture.  Then, the next thing we knew, she was approaching our picnic table.  The closer she got, the more we were able to see that she looked very unhealthy.  I felt so bad I thought, "She needs some food!"  So I offered her some of our lunch.  She came right up and sniffed things in my hand.  But she would not eat them.  In hindsight, her familiarity with people, especially at this picnic area where they are apt to feed her people food (speaking from firsthand knowledge), could very likely be the cause of why she is sick.  It was still a neat experience.  I do feel bad for her (I've prayed for her several times since this happened-call me crazy) and hope she will recover.  Here is a video of my encounter:

Webcam Wednesday - I Didn't Plan This! It's Happening, Live!

Webcam Wednesday on a Thursday?  It's OK, I'm suffering from a possible mild concussion.  For all I know it's still Wednesday.

WebCam Wednesday - Wacky Water

We were at my mom's house on Saturday. We were sitting around her kitchen table talking and I noticed that the condensation from my drink was beading up on the tablecloth and I could roll it around and play with it. I pointed it out to everyone and my mom said that the tablecloth must have some major stain guard on it. We decided to have some fun with it. We might have got a little carried away.

WebCam Wednesday - Gonna Find Out Who's Bad Or Good

I was cleaning up the kitchen yesterday after the kids all left for school. Addy was putting on a special little show and I couldn't resist pulling out the video camera.

*Please note that I said I was cleaning up the kitchen and try not too notice how dirty it is.

WebCam Wednesday - Incredible Ironies

A friend of mine posted this video on Facebook today. I think it is interesting that this is from a talk given in 1978, and look where we are right now, today.

"...We have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in peace, and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us; and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us!"

WebCam Wednesday - Another Pleasant Valley Tuesday

Yesterday was a little rough. To say the least. I wasn't feelin' so hot. Aubrey did nothing but cry. Emily couldn't figure out her homework and she freaked out if anyone tried to help her. Zac kept trying to explain to me why Emily was wrong on her homework, even though I already knew that, and he kept trying to tell her that, which made her freak out even more. And Addy, well, she was just being Addy.

WebCam Wednesday - If You Saw My Family, You'd Understand

You might have noticed that I am trying really hard this week to be a better blogger. You can thank me later. Or now, whatever is more convenient for you.

Anyhoo, this is a little video of a fun moment in time when Mike and Sheila were here last summer.

WebCam Wednesday - What The Hail?

When we were camping in Moab we had a little hail storm in between our rain storms. It probably lasted about 8-10 minutes. It was so loud on the roof of the trailer we had to yell to hear each other. And when it stopped all our ears were ringing. By the time I decided to pull the camera out and take a video, the hail decided to let up, of course.

Had Myself a WebCam Wednesday

Last week Aubrey had a special Kindergarten program. She is the cute little girl in the green shirt with white flowers on the front row with a purple flower in her hair. She is right in front of the big head man in the green shirt. You'll recognize her. She is the cutest kid up there.

Just a small world note. While at the program, Steve saw some people from St. Louis that he knew growing up, who were here visiting, and their grandchild was in the same program.

WebCam Wednesday - Who's Kid Is This Anyway?

That's Emily for you. She is so weird. I have no idea where she gets it from. Must be from Steve's side of the family.

WebCam Wednesday - Tiny Dancer

When we were in Arizona, we went to eat at pretty much the only restaurant that is open in Page at this time of year. It was actually very yummy. You may have seen a picture, in my last post, of the flaming fajitas Steve and I shared. I will just say, they were probably the best shrimp fajitas I have ever had. And that's saying a lot seeing that I hail from the land of Tex-Mex. Anyway, that really has nothing to do with the video. Addison was really enjoying the music and it was very cute. As you can see. Just ignore what her brother says at the end.

WebCam Wednesday - Take A Chance On Me

Alright. I'm takin' a chance right now posting this here video. This is why. I don't know where the speakers for my computer are. So therefore I can't hear anything on the video. It has been deleted from my flip camera so I can't go back and watch it there and hear what's goin' down. I could upload it to my blog, save it, and go listen to it on Steve's computer, which happens to be equipped with speakers. However, his computer is turned off. I don't wanna turn it on and wait and go through all the hassle. I just wanna go take a bath in my nice big soaker tub. That's what I wanna do right now. So I'm just gonna be daring and post it. It could be scary. This was shot at my mom's house on Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving was a long time ago. I could be yelling at Zac when he is being obnoxious trying to cover up the camera. My children could be talking about bodily functions. You could be hearing them perform bodily functions. I don't know. But here it is. It's real and it's raw and that's just how it is.

WebCam Wednesday - I Wanna Know, Have You Ever Seen The Rain

I love the rain. I grew up in a place where when it rained, it rained. I now live in a place where when it rains, well, it just gives off a light misting. If you click on my "Everything you wanted to know about me" thig-a-ma-bobber on the right side there, you will see that aside from the ice cream and the people (not particularly in that order)(or maybe so) the thing I miss most about Texas is the rain. So when we were in St. Louis for Christmas and got caught in a torrential downpour, I was so excited. I had been so long since I had seen real rain. Steve and I were driving down the street loving it, while our kids were freaking out in the back seat. I turned back to them and said, "It's OK kids. That stuff there, that's called rain." Anyway, I just had to take a video to remember.

WebCam Wednesday - The Scary Family

We found out that we literally have a pumpkin patch/corn maze right in our back yard. Earlier this month we took the kids and my sister Lauren there. It was so much fun (except for the mosquitoes) (thanks people for putting the can of bug spray at the ticket counter AFTER we went through). They had a little hay maze for the kids to go through, then at the end you get to pose with the scarecrow family. Then we went through the corn maze. Thankfully Steve was with us because with my sense of direction, we would probably still be wandering around in there today. After finishing the maze we got to take cute little handcarts out into the pumpkin patch to make our selections. I was sad because my camera battery was dead, as I found out after we got there. So I took videos instead. I decided not to bore you with the long videos of us tromping through the corn maze and pumpkin patch.

WebCam Wednesday - And Bean-O Was His Name-O

My brother Sam returned home from his mission in Mexico City on Wednesday. We were all very curious to see how his dog Bean-O would react when seeing him for the first time. So I decided to make a video of the reunion. Here it is for those interested.
