You Have One New Message

Last week my I had a voice mail come through on my cell phone and it was an old voice mail I had saved that was about to be deleted. It was a message my grandmother left me with the information about my aunts flight when she was flying in for my dad's funeral. It was so weird listening to that message. I could hear my sisters and their kids in the background at my mom's house. Those few days right after my dad died were so.....sigh.....I don't know. Crazy. 10 million phone calls. 10 million people. 10 million things to do. Running on no sleep. Hearing that message and remembering all that went on in that time, it was like a dream. Like it wasn't real. Like it didn't really happen. It was kinda weird.

I found this video on my mom's flip camera. I took it the weekend before my dad passed away. That was the weekend we were having our kitchen floor sealed and our house smelled so bad so we spent 2 nights at my parents house. This is a video I took one night. I am glad we spent that weekend with them.

I keep thinking about the day my dad died. It was a Saturday. My grandma was in town. We had friends in town who were staying at my parents house. We were going to go up and spend the day visiting. The week before had been so crazy. We had so much going on and we were all running in different directions. When we were getting ready to start getting all our stuff and kids together to go up to my parents house, I started thinking that maybe we should stay home. I was tired, didn't feel like loading everything up, Steve was actually home all day, and we were going to be going to my parents house the next day for Sunday dinner anyway. My head kept trying to talk myself into staying at home, but for some reason my heart kept trying to push me out the door. I didn't want to deal with making the decision any more so I asked Steve if he thought we should just stay home. Steve is a homebody who isn't at home all that much. Usually when given the option, he will opt to stay at home. He thought about it for a minute and said, "No, Let's go. Let's just load everyone up and go." It was strange to me that he said that because that wasn't the answer I was expecting from him. I told him I kept trying to talk myself into staying home because it would just be easier than loading everyone up and I was tired because I had had a long week. I said even though I keep trying to convince myself to stay home, there was something in me that just wanted to go. He said he felt the same way.

So we went. And we had a very good day. My dad was in such a good mood that day. We enjoyed our time with him. I am so thankful that we were able to be with him, just hours before he died. I am thankful my children were able to be with him on his last day on earth. I am so thankful for the still small voice that kept prompting Steve and me to go. I am thankful that we listened.

Take A Seat

Disclaimer: This is not my child, or any child that I know. This picture was found on the internet.

So, it's like this. I finally decided to buy Addison a new car seat. I know, it's about time. She is still 2 pounds underweight to be forward facing but I figure I feed her a lot of candy this week and she will be fine. I could not believe how easy it was to install her car seat. Five minutes. Five minutes to open the box, take the seat out, install it in my van, adjust the shoulder straps to the right height, adjust the tension in the strap, tighten the seat down. FIVE MINUTES. I didn't have to take the seat apart to adjust the shoulder straps. If she is wearing a coat, pshhhh...no big thang. Two second adjustment. HELLO!!! If you are a new mother let me just tell ya how easy you have it. Life and car seats were not always like this. When Zac was a baby it would take me 30 freakin' minutes to install the car seat and make sure it was in ok and put the locking clip in place and then heaven forbid I would have to adjust anything. You had to take the whole dang seat apart. And once I got that sucker in, ain't no way I was takin' it out and movin' it to another car. They have improved over the years but even 5 years ago when Aubrey was a baby, that was my last time dealing with a car seat, they still took some work, honey. Five minutes. I am so excited. It's like hummmm, let's put your coat on. Oh, look, I don't have to squeeze the life out of you to do up your car seat I just push this little magic button right heara and you can breath. I'm lookin' for excuses to go somewhere so I can put her in the seat. Sometimes I put her in a coat, sometimes in a jacket, sometimes in just her clothes. I vary it up so that I can adjust the straps every time I put her in. Who knew a car seat could bring so much joy and entertainment to my life?

One Tough Chick

Last weekend Steve had a job down south where the weather was nice. He took Emily with him and taught her how to ride a 4 wheeler. She enjoyed the time with her dad.

Monday Morning Musings - Grace

I really hope when glue says it is non toxic, it really is. Aubrey made valentine picture with candy conversation hearts glued on it back around Valentines day. She left it where Addison could get it and Addison picked off and ate every single heart. Emily just brought a picture home this weekend that she made at school that also had candy hearts glued on it. I just found all the hearts in Addy's mouth. Maybe that's why she's so sick.......

Addison has all of a sudden become very opinionated. And she has learned how to express herself and try to get what she wants. JOY.

This morning Addison learned that she can now reach my makeup drawer. And she learned that she can open it. And she learned that she can pull EVERYTHING out of it. And she learned that she can open everything in it. And she learned that she can make pretty pictures on herself and anything around her with the contents of the drawer. And she learned that it is really fun to dig around in a lipstick case with tweezers.

Steve and I were watching a show last night on HG TV and it was a top 10 kitchen show. We have found the EXACT way we want to decorate our kitchen. I am so excited. It is just what I wanted in my head and now I have a picture to go with it. I just looked it up and here it is:

We found these red cabinets at IKEA and wanted so bad to use them but we thought it might be too much red. I love how they just did some of the cabinets here in red and the rest in maple. These are the exact colors I have been wanting to do. You can't see the rest of the kitchen but they have pear green accents in it and like I said, these are the exact colors and style I wanted. I had pretty much talked myself out of the red cabinets, but I am back on track. Aren't you excited for me?

Yesterday, I exhibited extreme grace as I tripped on something and stubbed my pinkie toe. I swore it was broken. But I am thinking now that it isn't. It is just all blue and purple from the top of my toe all the way down about an inch into my foot. It is killing me to wear shoes but when I don't have my shoes on I seem to have a problem of re injuring it. Just call me Grace.

(Grace, she passed away thirty years ago. GRACE. They want you to say GRACE. THE BLESSING!!!! I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America.....)

Just in case you have no idea what just happened:

Yesterday Zac got in a little trouble. Ok, a lot of trouble. So I took away all of his privileges for this whole week. This morning when he was getting ready to go to school he said, "Mom, shouldn't I stay home from school today? You did take away all my privileges and going to school is a privilege. There are a lot of kids in the world who don't have the privilege of going to school."

The song now stuck in my head:

Why? Because of these lyrics of course:
GRACE Kelly, Harlow, Jean
Picture of a beauty queen,
Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire
Ginger Rodgers, dance on air
They had style, they had GRACE

Do you know Madonna turns 50 this year. HOT DANG!!! I'm 34 and I can't do what she does.

Current Song Stuck In My Head - Don't Spit In The Wind

I was driving home tonight and this song came on the radio. It reminded me of my dad.

PMA Update

I took Addison to the doctor today. She has ear infection #6 since November. She still has the poops and has just recently added vomiting to the equation. Just for the fun of it. She has lost a pound which now puts her down to 17 pounds. The doctor said if she loses any more weight she will have to go to the hospital and get an IV. To make things really fun my dryer decided to stop drying clothes. HAHAHAHA! Great timing. Thankfully I have wonderful neighbors and friends who are letting me use theirs.

If you can't be in the health you want honey, love the health your in. Love the health your in.......

Flashback Friday - Stir It Baby, Stir It!

My sister Farrah likes to stir things up. I told you about her anonymous Confessions Post a while back. Well now she has sparked a political debate over at her blog that is far more entertaining than my attempt at a debate. She is crazy and that is one of the reasons we love her so much. Here is a picture of her stirring things up long ago at a party we had at our house:

I have mentioned before that our house was the hang out house for all our friends. We had so many parties, I don't know how my parents handled it. I have a lot of fun pictures from that party that I thought some of you might enjoy. I was planning on sharing them here. However, my scanner is giving me fits and I am about ready to slam it up against the wall. I did get this one scanned. I will try and scan the rest later. Right now I just think the scanner and I need a break from each other.

YAHA!!! Spell check just worked!

Thursday Morning Musings - Why Not? I'm On a Musing Kick

We had an earthquake this morning. Actually it was in Nevada but I felt it all the way over here in my living room. Addison and I were the only ones awake. We were sitting on the couch in the living room. It felt like someone was under the couch and was trying to stand up, it was all wobbly. I thought one of the kids got up and was hiding under the couch or something. That doesn't really make sense because even though my kids are super skinny they still wouldn't fit under there. Oh well. Steve was upstairs in our bedroom and he said he could really feel it up there. Scarry! Our neighborhood is right on a major fault line. If there is going to be more quakin' I hope it holds off until we sell the house.

Steve is the only one still sick today. I never actually got sick. I think it was my PMA (positive mental attitude). My ear even stopped hurting.

I went a little crazy yesterday and there is a chance that we might all get Lysol poisoning. We'll see.

Zac has a Science Fair project due tomorrow. Humph. I guess we should get started on that.

It snowed last night and is still snowing now. We have snow in our forecast everyday from now until Monday. I am trying to have PMA about that, but it is pretty hard.

I am really angry at all cell phone manufacturers. I know they do this in order to make more $$$, but I really wish they would just be kind to the comsumers and make one universal charger. As I am going through the house and cleaning stuff out I have probably found 20 different chargers. Why we kept them? I guess we figured someday we might have a phone with that kind of charger again. I have since learned that no two cell phones have the same charger, so I might as well throw it out. I wonder, if you took all the worlds tossed out cell phone chargers and put them in one place, how many there would be.....If only we could get some celebrity to jump on the 'cell phone charger cause' band wagon, the world would be a much better place. (that was sarcastic, just in case you didn't know)

What's that picture at the top of my post, you are wondering? Why, those are people charging their cell phones, of course. I wonder how long that takes.

Current Ditty Stuck In My Head - Oh Yeah, Life Goes On

your welcome

i think i might be over my slump

just getting here? read on:

Wednesday Morning Musings - Take 2

This is what I have decided. I need to embrace it. So that is what I am doing. Embracing. Letting go of all the hate. The negative energy. (deep breath in, deep breath out)

So we're sick. Again. Pshhhh. Big deal. People get sick everyday. Like us. Everyday. We're not dying. We don't have a terminal illness. A degerative disease. (oohhh, big words, no spell check).

Embrace.

Be thankful for the health you have.

I have a new theme song. A little ditty (about jack and diane. two american kids doin' best they can)(gonna let it rock, let it roll. let the bible belt come and save my soul, hold on to 16 as long as you can, changes come around real soon, make us women and men)

That's not my new theme song. I just really love that song and once I start it is really hard to stop (in the name of love).

Apparently I am in a better mood.

Embrace.

Enough, here is my song: "If you can't be in the health you want, honey, love the health your in. Love the health your in."

I am embracing the vomit. I am embracing the poop. I am embracing the countless baths. The loads of nasty as all get out laundry. The 50,000 diapers a day.

I am so thankful I have clean running water to facilitate the clean up. I am thanful I have a washing machine and a dryer. I am thankful I have 50,000 diapers with which to put on my baby. I am thankful that my mother went to the store for me this morning and bought us the things we need to make it through this day.

I am thankful for lysol.

Embrace.

This is gonna be a good day. I can feel it in my bones.

Wednesday Morning Musings - Good Freaking Morning

I have been in a blogging slump the past several days. I think I might be on the verge of getting over it.

I am about to have a nervous breakdown because:

  • I finished my antibiotic for my ear infection yesterday. Right now my ear hurts worse than it did when I went to the doctor. I feel like someone has stuck an ice pick in it. And it is still there.

  • Addison has been waking up at night. When she does that it usually means she has an ear infection. If that is the case it will be ear infection #6 (or #1 that has just never cleared up) for her since November.

  • Addison has the poops. Again.

  • Zac and Aubrey both threw up in the middle of the night last night. They were both kind enough to do it within 5 minutes of each other so Steve and I only had to get up and clean up once.

  • Steve, Emily and I all feel sick. So far we have had no outward manifestation of our illness. But you know when sometimes you feel like that would make you feel a lot better?

  • We have been sick ALL WINTER LONG. No kidding. No exaggerating. ALL FREAKING WINTER LONG.

I really really really really really want winter to be over. I really really really really want to go outside. I want to take my kids to the park. I want to walk my kids to and from school. I want the FREAKING snow to melt and not come back. I want it to be spring.

I just about started to cry when I typed that last part.

I am really mad because my book club meets tonight and I don't think I will be able to go and I loved the book we read.

On a different, more positive note. I am so thankful for my husband and how hard he works so that I can stay home and be a mom to my children. I love you honey!

Will spell check ever freaking work again?

You will have to excuse my language, but that is the kind of FREAKING mood I'm in right now.

Flashback Friday - Hoppy Easter

Stupid Cupid

Last night when I was helping the kids do their Valentines:

Me: Emily, have any boys asked you to be their Valentine?

Emily: No.

Me: Zac, have you asked any girls to be your Valentine?

Zac: (looking at me like I am stupid) NO!

Me: Are there any girls at your school that you like?

Zac: Yes. There is one girl I like.

Me: (trying not to sound too excited) Really. Who is it?

Zac: Garrett. Sometimes he acts like a girl.

I Say A Little Prayer For You

I think that most days answered prayers go by unnoticed. But every once in a while something happens to make you sit up and take notice and realize how blessed you really are.

Yesterday morning we were saying family prayer just like we do any other day. Zac was saying it. It was a pretty quick, to the point, let's eat breakfast now kind of prayer except for one thing. Right at the end of his prayer he said please bless dad while he is at work today that he will be safe. He didn't ask a blessing that anyone else be safe and I thought, hum...And then I went right along with my day and forgot all about it.

Yesterday afternoon Steve was working at our new house. He was up on the roof stapling plastic down. He was working really fast moving down the roof, spreading out plastic and stapling it. He would staple, back up, staple, back up. Well he went to back up and almost backed right off the edge of the roof but he was able to catch himself before that happened. Immediately the thought came into his head, "Your son prayed for you this morning".

Wow. It was a reminder to me that prayer really is important. Sometimes we don't have that much to pray about and prayers might seem, I don't know, like they get monotonous. Or rote. I'm not sure what word I am looking for. But we never know. How many time have we almost "fallen off a roof" and not realized it, but were spared because someone prayed for us that day? It also made me think about the power of a child's prayer.
I am very thankful for a Heavenly Father who loves me and my children. A Heavenly Father who hears and answers our prayers. It reminds me of Emily's favorite Primary song:

Monday Morning Musings - The Doctor Will Insult You Now

Ahhh, Monday Morning. A brand spankin' new week all squeaky fresh and clean. That is what I thought last Monday. We were coming off 2 weeks of doing nothing (except funeral stuff and stomach virus stuff) and I was so excited that we were all feeling better and that I could actually get back to real life and actually get something accomplished. I got a lot done last Monday. I really thought it would be a great week. What did I know? Anyway I feel 10,000 times better now and I think the majority of us are over the flu slump (except Steve who is apparently a late bloomer). The kids are back in school, again. I am excited to get something done, again. I hope it lasts this time.

I went to the doctor on Friday because aside from the flu I knew I also had an ear infection. He was the rudest most arrogant person. I was so sick I could hardly hold myself in an upright position when I was there so I didn't say much to him, but I really want to go back today and give him a piece of my "ambivalent" mind. He told me probably 3 or 4 times I was ambivalent. Girl, he's just lucky I have too much to do today than to bother with his sorry booty.

While I was at the doctor I couldn't help but notice the receptionist had on this black eye shadow applied in the shape of a triangle right above the crease of her eye. It looked jack-o-lanternish. I can't tell you how tempted I was to reach across the counter and rub it in for her. I went to that office probably about a year ago and it was the same way so she is obviously doing it on purpose. Poor thing.

When Farrah said thank you for "enlightening" me on your views, what do you think the " " meant? Was she calling me stupid? FARRAH! Were you calling me stupid?

My dear sweet mother brought us dinner yesterday. Oh my! Can I just tell you how long it has been since we have eaten a real, actual meal with meat and vegetables and fruit and bread and dessert? It was last Monday actually. It was so yummy. We devoured it. DEVOURED.

The book I am reading now, A Thousand Splendid Suns, is so good. It is by the author of The Kite Runner which is also a very good book and I can't wait to see the movie. Anyway, I recommend it. Khaled Hosseini is the author and he is a magnificent story teller. MAGNIFICENT.

HAPPY MONDAY!

Why B.O. Scares The Ever Living Bahookie Out Of Me (hee, hee, his initials are BO)

Before I get all political on you I will give you a little update on our situation here. The other day when I said we never get the flu. Well, apparently I spoke too soon. I just took all 3 girls to the doctor and aside from all 3 of them having ear infections, they also have the flu. I assume that is what is plaguing me also. They are all now on antibiotics for their ears. They were all just on antibiotics the beginning of Jan. for the same thing. This is Addison's 1-2-3-4-5, FIFTH round of antibiotics since mid November. Once more, bring on the poop! The doctor asked if we had had our flu shots and I wanted to say "HECK NO" but instead I just said no. She said she has seen 7 people this week with the flu who have had their shot. WOW! SHOCKING! So anyway, up until this week we have never had the flu. I guess we were due. I can't wait to be well. I am ready for spring.

Walgreen’s update: I went to get RX's filled and I was so annoyed because there was someone in each lane when I went to drop off. I actually had to wait. When I went back to pick up both lanes were empty so I went to the first one and not long after there were 2 cars backed up behind me with no one in lane 2. (this is some good blogging)

I am ever so very sad that Mitt dropped out of the race today. And I am really angry at McCain and Huckabee and their dirty nasty politics. So phooey on you.

So this is why Barack Obama scares me:

1. Do we really want someone with a Muslim background who's middle name is Hussein to serve as president of our country? (Ok, that probably is really unfair of me so we won't count this as #1)

1. I think he is very naive

2. I think he is affiliated with a church that is very racially motivated. Here is their own description of themselves as found on their website:

  • We are a congregation which is Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian... Our roots in the Black religious experience and tradition are deep, lasting and permanent. We are an African people, and remain "true to our native land," the mother continent, the cradle of civilization. God has superintended our pilgrimage through the days of slavery, the days of segregation, and the long night of racism. It is God who gives us the strength and courage to continuously address injustice as a people, and as a congregation. We constantly affirm our trust in God through cultural expression of a Black worship service and ministries which address the Black Community.

3. I think that it is interesting in the 10 point vision for their church there is made no mention of God (upon whom our country is founded). And it would seem that members of this congregation are a little more devoted to Africa instead of the actual county in which we live. (probably not a great thing for the president of our country) Again from their web site:
The Pastor as well as the membership of Trinity United Church of Christ is committed to a 10-point Vision:

  • A congregation committed to ADORATION.

  • A congregation preaching SALVATION.

  • A congregation actively seeking RECONCILIATION.

  • A congregation with a non-negotiable COMMITMENT TO AFRICA.

  • A congregation committed to BIBLICAL EDUCATION.

  • A congregation committed to CULTURAL EDUCATION.

  • A congregation committed to the HISTORICAL EDUCATION OF AFRICAN PEOPLE IN DIASPORA. (Diaspora-A dispersion of a people from their original homeland)

  • A congregation committed to LIBERATION.

  • A congregation committed to RESTORATION.

  • A congregation working towards ECONOMIC PARITY.

4. I think his plan to sit around a campfire, holding hands with our enemies, and singing Cumbaya is stupid and scary. These people don't want to talk or negotiate, they just want to blow us up using any means they can, including using women, children, and the mentally disabled. Using women is actually forbidden in the Quoran but apparently they are making exceptions. Sure. Let's sit down and reason with them.

5. He would immediately begin removing our troops from Iraq. I have a brother-in-law currently serving our country for the 2nd time around in Iraq. Just last week he was injured by a RPG. It would be nice to have him and all our other soldiers home but I think immediate removal is not wise.

6. He doesn’t believe that America should torture our enemies to get information from them. It would be nice if we lived in a world where this wasn't necessary, but we don't.

7. He believes in separatism. I feel like God and values and morals have been removed enough from our society. Our society which I again remind you was founded upon God and values and morals. I believe that further removal of them will aide in the continuing decline of our society.

8. He has how many years of political experience? 2?

9. He has the most liberal voting record of any current senator.

10. I think that anyone who is president of the USA should be unabashedly patriotic and I don't get the feeling that he is:

So I guess to sum it all up, I think that we haven't had a terrorist attack in our actual country since 9/11 and I feel that many of his views would inspire terrorists to once again target us here, at home, and that scares me.

And since I am in such a bad mood and I am so angry about all things political at the moment I have something else to say. I am sick and tired of "Journalists" who grossly misuse and abuse their power in the media. What happened to reporting the news and not your own personal opinion and calling it "news". I am sick and tired of mainstream media being used by liberals to pollute the minds of American citizens.

You never hear anyone say anything about Obama's church. But poor Mitt was constantly critisized for his religion. What does his church believe?

The Articles of Faith of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as found on thier website:

  • We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.

  • We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam's transgression.

  • We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.

  • We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.

  • We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.

  • We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.

  • We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.
We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.

  • We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.

  • We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.

  • We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.

  • We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.

  • We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.
Putting the doctrinal points aside, I think that this is the kind of person who we need in the White House right now. As for all the candidates left.....

Drats! Foiled Again.

So, I am really sick. Like sick, sick. Like fever, chills and achy sick. Yesterday my body ached so bad that when I put my hand under running water in the sink, it hurt my whole body.

Well, Steve comes home in the middle of the day yesterday to take care of me and help with the kids. He went to vote first. He came home and said there is no line, it will only take a minute, I should go vote. Let me tell ya. I woke up with every intintion to vote yesterday but as the day went on and I was getting worse by the minute, I decided that my vote pretty much wouldn't make much of a difference and it was more important for me to stay in bed.

That's when my evil genius husband planted a brilliant seed of an idea in my head. You see, he was registered as an independent and he was able to choose if he wanted to vote democratic or republican. I still said, "No way! I am too sick. I am staying in bed." But then the more I lay there and the more I thought about it, I just had to get up and get my nasty showerless self dressed and go do my civic duty. So I got my achy body into some clothes, pulled my nappy hair back into a ponytail, went down to Steve's office and said, "Look what you have done to me. You better drive me over to the school to vote before I collapse."
So I went to vote for:

Now right about this moment you are probably thinking, "SAY WHAT??? Am I at the right blog???" Rest assured, you are here, safe and sound.

You see, I woke up with the intent to vote for:

Who is the person I would really like to see sitting at this desk:

However, living where I live, I didn't feel like he would really need my little old vote to win our state. So I thought I would place a vote for the other side.

I figure we endured 8 years of this:

So if need be we could probably endure 8 more.

And this, my friends, scares the absolute living bahookie out of me:

Well, my plan didn't work. I was registered as a republican and they wouldn't let me swing it the other way.

So I voted for :

and grumbled my way back out to the car and told Steve I should have just stayed in bed.

And just so you know, spell check still isn't working and I am too sick to care or do anything about it, just know that I am a horrible speller and deal with any mistakes I made.

Monday Morning Musings - Order Up!

It was a little disturbing to open my e-mail today and have an e-mail from my dad in my in box.

Have you ever wondered why when popcorn pops, and if you let it pop just a few seconds too long, the whole bag of popcorn gets burned, but the first few kernels that pop can stay in the bag for several minutes while the rest is popping and it is just fine. Why don't they burn? I'm losing sleep.

Does it bug you that when you go to a fast food joint (my saying joint made me laugh out loud) (so nice I can so easily amuse myself) nowadays you have to ask for ketchup or they won't give it to you because they are trying to conserve, but then when you ask for ketchup for the one order of fries you have they give you 63 packets? Can there be no middle ground?

I have this thing that I don't fully understand. But sometimes I miss being a waitress. Why? Couldn't tell ya. So on Friday Steve and I ordered take out from Chili’s and I went to go pick it up. I was waiting inside and I had a full view of the kitchen area. They were in the thick of the Friday night rush and everyone was running around and people were yelling that they needed their order and yelling that things were messed up and I wanted so bad to be back there, yelling for my baby back ribs for table number 8 who have been waiting for forever. Thankfully I have a voice of reason within me that knows full well that if I ever did take a job as a waitress again, I would enjoy it for all of, umm, 1/2 a shift, and then I would be done. I will just stay at home and do my laundry and clean my kitchen and read to my children and be thankful.

Addison has been sick pretty much all winter and, well, it's still winter. Sigh.....

Is anyone else having problems getting spell check to work in blogger? It is really making me mad.

Pocket Change

I found the bathtub I want in my new house. It only costs $7,000.00. It has light therapy included along with tiny holes where thousands of effervescent bubbles emerge. Steve said I can have it and we just won't put garage doors or any entry doors on the house to offset the cost. It sounds like a good trade off. Don't you just want to be in that tub right now? It makes me start to fall asleep just looking at it.
Hmmm....if everyone I knew wanted to chip in some cash.......

Flashback Friday - Yippie-yi-yo-ki-yay

Allyson, Kristy, Farrah and Earl
This picture was taken at a youth conference we had when we did a pioneer trek. That was a lot of fun and this brings back a lot of memories. I have enjoyed spending time with my sisters over the last two weeks, even though it is a sad circumstance that brought us together. I think that they should both just get it over with and move here.
