Happy Birthday Addy

Can you believe it?  My BABY is SEVEN years old!  This year her Birthday fell on Thanksgiving.  The Friday before her Birthday we went out to buy her present.  She has been planning this shopping trip since her last Birthday when we went to Build a Bear and Annie was born.  This year Snowflake joined our family.  It didn't take her any time at all to choose her animal this time around.  She had done her research and had Snowflake picked out, dressed and named in her head before we even stepped foot in the store.

My sister Farrah and her family had just arrived from Dallas the night before, so Addy had quite the entourage with her.

And my mom and Lauren gave her money for her Birthday to spend a Build a Bear so she was able to bring this big huge giant thing home with us.  She was one happy girl.

The Tuesday before Thanksgiving we had her Birthday party at Get Air.

Addycakes, I really can't believe you are seven years old!  The time has gone by way to fast.  You came into this life on your own terms and you have been living it that way ever since.  You are most certainly one of a kind.  I enjoyed making your Birthday video.  It was fun to go back and see all those "Monster Baby" pictures and remember how crazy you made life for us when you were little.  You have grown out of it a tad bit, but you are still a character!  I love you!  I hope you enjoy your video.  It has your favorite songs from your favorite band (no one judge me, she is my youngest and she has teenage siblings influencing her).  Here it goes:

To The Moon!

Last Friday, November 8th, I was able to go with Addy on a field trip to the Planetarium.  We had a fun time and I am glad I was able to tag along.

And look who else got to tag along with us.  Emily went in her official capacity as yearbook photographer.  I really enjoyed spending the day having out of this world fun with these two girls.

We saw an IMAX movie about space (during which I had to keep closing my eyes to keep from vomiting-It was one of those movies that makes you feel like you are on a roller coaster.  I'm getting too old.) and then had drinks and popcorn.

And thankfully I made it back to the school just in the lick of time to see Aubrey and her friend Holly in the History Fair.  They did a great job explaining all about Amelia Earhart.

Veteran's Day 2013

This morning, in honor of Veteran's Day, Steve and I were able to go to the girls school for breakfast and a special program.

Aubrey and Addy sang with the Elementary.

They have had this Fallen Soldier table set up in the rotunda of the school for a few weeks now.

This is our first Veteran's Day at our new school.  They put on an awesome program.  When we were trying to decided if we wanted to switch all three of the girls over to this school we went to the school for a tour.  We were sold when we first walked into the rotunda.  These following pictures aren't of decorations for Veteran's Day.  This is every day.  It is an awesome school and we feel blessed to have our girls attend.

A special
THANK YOU

MODA's Birthday

MODA, AKA Mother Tricia, has a Birthday tomorrow.  Our little gang took her out last night to celebrate the fact that she was born unto this earth and by so doing forever changed the course of our lives.  On our way out of the hood I had to take these ladies to do their civic duty.  We were recalling the fact that exactly one year ago that very night, we were pretty much doing the exact same thing.  We went out to eat and on the way home we found out our beloved President was reelected.  And then almost as a sign we found April's cat freshly run over in the middle of the road.  We gathered him up and took him to her house where she and her children buried him the next day, only to find him alive and well again a few days later.  It was an election night miracle!  April had to make an announcement in Relief Society the following Sunday that if anyone was missing a cat it was probably buried in her back yard, but that she did provide a lovely service for it.  Oh fun memories!

After voting and much debate about where to eat (or to more adequately describe it- after much indecisiveness)  we decided to try out Twigs.  It was delicious.

I have eaten then before, only under slightly different circumstances.  BTW- the concrete floors in the joint look AWE-SOME!

FYI:  Don't eat at Twigs if you only have an hour before your movie starts (even if the movie theater is just a few feet away).  About 12 minutes into the actual movie (even after all 10,000 previews) we finally made it to our seats, even though Mama Foster threw away the tickets with her toothpick before we actually got to the theater.  Thankfully the nice man still let us in.  We saw Ender's Game and yes, I did stay awake through the whole thing.  Although with about 5 minutes left in the movie I leaned over to April and told her if it didn't end soon I was going to put my head on her shoulder and take a nap.
