Snow in Utah: Thanksgiving 2013, Day 5

Tuesday, November 26, 2013
I was a nice mom and let my kids skip school this day.  We all dressed warm and headed for downtown.  We spent the morning and early afternoon seeing the sights in Salt Lake.

Atop the Church Office Building

We went to the Church History Museum.  They have a fun play area for the kids (and adults), so we spent a lot of time there.

Then we headed over to the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.  First stop there was the Ellis Island display in the Family History Center.

The building was decorated beautifully for Christmas.

After a quick look around we went downstairs to eat lunch.

Then it was about time to head homeward for Addison's Birthday Party (click here to read more about that).  She had her party with friends and family at a trampoline park.

The babies had fun playing.  And Bart, Sam and Zac totally dominated the little kids at dodge ball.

That evening we all went to Costa Vida for dinner.  It was delicious, although some Texans were treated to some not so polite Utah hospitality for not being familiar enough with the menu.

That night we had a group watch/sleep through a movie.

And another group playing games.  The game players were having way too much fun and caused the movie watchers to turn the sound up and we couldn't hear ourselves and they couldn't hear their movie, so we set up shop in the office where we could be as loud as we pleased.

Snow in Utah: Thanksgiving 2013, Day 4

Monday, November 25, 2013

On Monday we all kind of did our own thing.  Steve had to go to work.  My kids had to go to school and I had to go to the school to do some things as well.  The Maldonados went sight seeing and Sam and Teresa helped my mom out around the house.  That night we all went to my mom's house for dinner.  And of course we drove in the army truck to get there!

This is the Bart I know and love.  Standing right in front of the TV watching sports, oblivious to the world around him.  If I remember correctly this was the Mavs/Jazz game that was on a few days before that my mom recorded for him.  And he already knew the outcome of the game.

These were the hottest dang peppers.  Zac ate a whole one with all the seeds.  How is he my child????  Just smelling them from across the room burned my mouth and made me cry!

More Speed Rummikub.

Those without glasses can sit on this side of the table.

And those with glasses can sit on this side.

It was so freezing cold when it was time to leave.  We were all kinda regretting our decision to ride in the back of the army truck.  But we had no other choice but take it home and freeze.  It actually wasn't very cold.  The top blocked all the wind.  And Matthew kept us entertained with his horn.

11/24/13                                                          07/04/11

On Sunday we got up early and we all went to church.  Bart spent the early morning hours ironing clothes.  I think the last time my iron and ironing board were used was the last time Bart was here in 2011.  Not kidding.  After church and lunch we all kinda snoozed a little bit.  I'm gonna be nice and not post those pictures.  Then Farrah took Emily, Gabe, and Henry on a walk.

When my Mom and Lauren and Sam and Teresa got out of church they came over.

Bart and Farrah made their infamous breakfast burritos for dinner.  They were delicious!

I have no idea what the boys did the rest of the night, but the girls played Speed Rummikub.  A lot of Speed Rumikub.
