Saturday at Provo River Falls

On Saturday August 9th we spent the day at Provo River Falls.  We had the best time!

We started the day off with a picnic lunch near the falls.  Steve is pointing out dueling woodpeckers in a tree.

It was a pretty overcast and chilly day in the mountains, which made hiking in the freezing cold water all the more fun!  It took me a few minutes to convince myself I wanted to get in the water.

In the picture above, Zac was goofing off and making faces at Addy.  She was goofing off and making faces back.  That is when she slipped off the rock she was standing on and fell in and got completely drenched in the freezing cold water.

They made it all the way across!

It was time to head back.  We took the forest route this time in hopes of drying off a little.

Back to our picnic spot.  We cooked dinner over the fire.

Zac bought this hammock a few months ago and hadn't had the opportunity to use it yet.  He brought it along and made good use of it that night.

A friendly game of Frisbee.

On the way home after a fabulous fun family day.

A am so thankful to my Heavenly Father who created such beauty for us to enjoy.  I am thankful for the family He has given me.  And I am thankful we had this opportunity to enjoy both our family and His creations in such a fun way.

Kay's Birthday Bucket List

Thursday August 7th was my dear mother's birthday.  She had the day off work and spent it with her friend Caroline who is here visiting from Dallas.  That night she and Caroline and Caroline's son Tommy and his family came over to our house for dinner.  We had a lovely meal.  As we were all sitting around the table chatting after the meal, my mother said that she had something she wanted to mark off her bucket list and needed our help.  She wanted to ride on an ATV.  The kids were happy to oblige.  Zac took her on a ride.  We got all the wheelers out and everyone took turns riding.

After getting our fill riding the wheelers, we sang Happy Birthday and had cupcakes.  We sat outside enjoying the lovely weather, beautiful scenery and fantastic company.  Happy Birthday Mom!
