She Uses Vaaaaaseline
I just want to thank my dear sister Kristy for 2 things. One, thank you for the trip down memory lane. For the last 2 days I have had the Vaseline song going through my head. Ahhhhh....the '90's. And two, thank you EVER so much for the very helpful and timely tip. I went to the store and bought vaaaaaaseline yesterday and I just have to say, it worked wonders on my dry cracked summer sandal wearin' heels. I am now a true believer in the power of using vaaaaaaseline..........

Flashback Friday - Sgt. Peppers Lonely Heart's Club Band

Sorry I am a day late with my flashback. I tried yesterday several times and couldn't get our internet to work. So I feel like I need to have a clause at the beginning of all my flashback Friday's that says: please ignore my scary hair, nasty clothes and now please ignore my armature scrapbook pages. These are some of the first scrapbook pages I made and I made them over 10 years ago.WOO HOO!!!
Zac and his class playing tug-o-war at Field Day
Celebrate good times, come on!
Celebrate Good Times, come on!
There's a party goin' on right here
A celebration to last throughout the year
So bring your good times and your laughter too
We're gonna celebrate and have a party with you
Come on now.....
It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it
It's the end of the world as we know it
AND I FEEL FINE!
I'm free to do what I want any old time
Yes I'm free to do what I want any old time
These are the songs that have been going through my head all week long. And right now:
I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it
I'm about to lose control and I think I like it
Woah a woah......
My alarm went off at 6:00 yesterday morning and I jumped right out of bed with a smile on my face. You see, the beginning of the day yesterday signified the beginning of the end for me. It was field day at the elementary school and not only was it field day, it was my last activity as PTA president. I have been counting down the activities and board meetings for the last few months. Don't get me wrong. I have really enjoyed being PTA president, however....I ain't cryin' about it bein' over! It has just been really hard since Addison was born to keep up with everything. At the beginning of the year I really enjoyed all the activities and things. But since November (2 months into the school year you might note) I have enjoyed them less and less. Every time an activity was coming up it would be really hard for me to get myself worked up enough to make it through. But Field Day was a different story. I have been so busy all week long working on stuff for field day, but I was so happy and so excited for it. I could finally see the end. Anyway, it really was a fun day and I was glad I was able to be there and end my term with a Scha-bang-a-lang. Click here for more pictures.

Flashback Friday - Trail Dust Or Bust
Kristy, Allyson, Lauren & Farrah doin' the Cotton Eyed Joe
I must start out by making a plea for you to overlook the fact that I am hugely pregnant with Zac in this picture and also remember that 10 years ago maternity clothes were not what they are today.
This was a trip Steve and I took to Dallas about 10 years ago. While there we went to the "Trail Dust Steakhouse". We had so much fun. I really right now would love to be in Texas so I could go and take my kids to "Trail Dust". They would have so much fun.
It is, as I said a steakhouse and it has this huge 2 story slide that goes down to the dance floor, they have a live band that plays and a huge dance floor. They also do not allow ties to be worn so when someone comes in wearing a tie they make a big deal about it and cut it off of them and hang it on the wall.

PreSchool Graduation
Our Own Little Sweat Shop
So Zac comes home from school yesterday and says that he has to have at least 20 Chinese lanterns (this was his item of choice) to have a successful booth and he only has 2 1/2 completed and his teacher said he could work on making some at home. So we took Emily to piano lessons, came home and made dinner, ate, took Zac to TaeKwonDo, gave the girls a bath while he was there, picked him up, had Family Home Evening, put the girls in bed, then turned our attention to the matter of making lanterns.
I had seen the lanterns he was making in school when I was in his class last week. In order to make them I would have had to go to the store and bought a ton of stuff and we would have been up till midnight at least trying to turn those things out. So I scrounged around my craft room found some rubber stamps with Chinese letters on them, found the paper crimper I haven't used in about 10 years (it sure came in handy last night) and came up with this lovely design for lanterns. Zac and I turned out 25 lanterns in about 40 minutes. Pretty good work if I do say so myself.
