On September 2nd, Zac turned 12! Can you believe that? We had a party with some of his friends after school that day. It was a "Video Game" party. We had 3 different systems set up for them to play on.

You might recall last March, when both Emily and Aubrey had parties. And all the screaming, running around, crying, fighting, drama we had. In the middle of Zac's party, I turned to Steve and sighed. "Ahhh", I said. "The difference between girl parties and boy parties". I would rather throw 100 boy parties than throw 1 girl party. At this party, there was no screaming. No running. No crying. No fighting. No Drama. It was so pleasant. I just sat back and relaxed and they played video games the whole time.

The other difference with boy parties. They don't care about organization. I said it was time for cake. They all gathered around me at the counter where I was getting the candles ready. I tried to get them to sit around the table, but no. They just wanted cake, and they wanted it now. So we just stood in the middle of the kitchen and sang Happy Birthday and divvied out the cake. I put it on plates, but they probably would have been fine if I just plopped a chunk in each of their hands.

Twelve is a special birthday for boys in our church. When they turn 12 they have the opportunity to receive the Priesthood. Zac was ordained on Sunday as a Deacon in the Aaronic Priesthood. It was a very special day for us all. My little boy is getting all growed up.

That sounds like a party that my husband would have loved!
Okay, it makes me cry to think he is already 12.
Boys ARE much different, although, I guess I wouldn't know.
I looked at the pictures again and wondered are you almost the same height as those boys? You look like a shrimp next to them and in your very tall house. :)
I am so proud of zac for getting the priesthood. Yeah for him.
Happy late Birthday, Zac. I love the party pictures because I catch glimpses of your gorgeous house.
