How To Swim In November

Last week, Addy found her swimsuit, put it on, then demanded that I fill up the wading pool that is in the garage. I tried to explain to her that it is freezing outside and that the water in the pool would be freezing too. Well, you can't explain anything to this girl. She just wanted to swim. She went out in the garage and found all the swim toys too. She brought them to me and then demanded again that I fill up the pool for her. How can you not want to give in to such persistence? So I filled up my bathtub instead. She had a delightful time swimming. And the whole of my bathroom was soaked when she was through.

I love this! We do this at our house all the time. Sometimes I even spray the backyard down (it's just dirt right now) and let the kids slide around in the mud. They have a blast...though I wonder what our neighbors think. ; )

Looks like fun. Brooklynn has had that idea before, but it has been awhile.

she is crazy mom. hey, we should do the mud thing where we get it wet then play in it since we only have dirt to.

yes ally, you guys should do the mud thing!!!!!

Addy looks so content and happy swimming.

I read an idea in family fun magazine once where a mom brought buckets of snow and filled their tub with it and the kids sat on the ground outside the tub making snow castles and mini snowmen so they could play in the snow in the warm house.I don't know why i shared that-but i did.

I know why you shared. So Emily can say, yeah, mom, lets do the snow thing too. Thanks.

This is a sight I see often. My 4 year old Emma is a FISH. She loves bathing and pretending she is "swimming."
