Flashback Friday - All Things Gibbons

Allyson, Jennifer, Farrah & Kristi setting up the Tee Pee for Legend Night

Dallas East Stake Girls Camp, it looks like my mom was in charge of crafts that year

Here it is, my next installment of Flashback Friday starring YOU! (not too late ta get in on the action) This one is for Mom Gibbons. Thank you for being the first person to comment who has never commented before! I told you I could find a picture for everyone. I'm very crafty that way. These pictures are from Girls Camp many moons ago. Jennifer is the daughter of Mom Gibbons. I believe I was in charge of Legend Night this year at camp and these darling girls were helping me. We set up the Tee Pee and then posed for pictures inside.

Now Diana, if I can post a picture like this of myself, you can't possibly be mad at the one I posted for you. Am I right or am I right? You don't have to answer that. I'm always right.

No Crack Mamma

I went to Target yesterday and bought a new pair of denim capris. They are cute and I was so excited to find a pair of anything that actually came to my waist and were still stylish.

I am wearing them today and I am torn. I feel like I am an old lady wearing mom jeans. But on the other hand, I am so excited that I can go about my day and not have to worry about my crack hangin' out. I haven't had to pull them up one time!

Sisterly Love

My children have done a fairly decent job of getting along this summer. Until recently. I think they have all just had a little too much of each other at this point. They have not been getting along at all this week. It was really bad today when we were eating lunch. Emily had a mouth full of milk and Zac said something to make her mad, so what did she do? She spit the milk out all over his face.

In the middle of my punishing/cleaning up/pulling them off of each other I had this flashback.

I was in high school. Farrah and I had some friends who started working at Chuck E Cheese. We wanted to go see them. We talked my mom into taking us there. I mean, Sam and Lauren were at the Chuck E Cheese age at that time. Kim Honeycutt and her mom went with us too. Everyone was off playing games and I think it was just Farrah, Kim and me at the table. Farrah and I got into some kind of fight and I think I took my drink and threw it in her face. So what did she do? She grabbed the whole pitcher of drink and threw it at me. Then I think we started into the pizza sauce for the breadsticks. It was pretty bad. I remember I was so mad at you Farrah. I am cracking up now thinking about it.

Ahhh, those were the days. I am so glad I get to relive them through my children.

Thinkin' Thursday - What Happens In Forks Stays In Forks

Our local library is having this thing where you write your prediction of what you think is going to happen in Breaking Dawn. You do that, get entered into a drawing and you could win a copy of the book. I turned in my prediction the other day. I said:

"My Prediction is that Bella will grow up, get a brain, marry Jacob and have cute little wolf babies."

I thought it would be fun to hear your predictions. And since it is Thinkin' Thursday, what do you think will happen????

And since we are on the subject:

Webcam Wednesday - My Most Embarrassing Moment

It is no longer Wednesday, however, we are going to pretend like it is. Watch my incredibly long video, then play along. What is your most embarrassing moment?

PS. I have always liked the fact that the word embarrassing has the word a** in it. Like look at what a dumb a** I am.

Monday "Morning" Musings - On The Fly

I couldn't let another Monday go by without taking a moment to muse.

So this is what it's like.

I have been running non stop all day today.

I have a To Do list with about 25 more things on it to do before I go to bed.

I would really like to go to bed now.

Not gonna happen.

I promise to have a better post tomorrow.

But not to leave you completely un-entertained. My friend did a post the other day and the title was "If yer gonna spew, spew in this". It really brought back a flood of memories. I am really wanting to watch this movie now. (Sheila, the entertainment queen, bring it to the cabin) This song.....brings back a lot of fun memories. Remember Farrah, driving around in a green Cadillac with you and me and Kristin and.....ya know, let's not bring that up......anyway......driving around listening to this song non stop while driving to McDonald's to get straws to twist and pop. Because they have the best straws for twisting and popping.

OK......so here's the video.

HGTV Junkies

Emily and I have a fav-O-rite show we watch every summer together. Only for some reason this summer we hadn't watched it. It recorded on our DVR we just never found the time to actually sit down and view it. This past week we finally decided that the time had come. We watched all 7 episodes in 2 days. The show is Design Star. We love it and we loved watching so many in a row. We were very sad when we ran out of episodes to watch. The final challenge is on tonight and next week the Design Star winner will be named. We are so excited. We have been fans of the show since the beginning. Our most favorite designer is David who won season 1. His prize? His own show on HGTV. Color Splash. We have that set to record also. We have never missed an episode. Our dream, me and my gal Emily, is to have David come and decorate a room in our new house. While watching Design Star this time around we noticed a promo for a new design challenge show. It is called Summer Showdown. We watched the commercial, looked at each other with wide eyes and set the DVR to record that show too. It's our favorite thing to do together, watch HGTV. I was just wondering if there were any other Design Star fans out there?

Kristy's bridesmaid pedicure party the night before her wedding: Back row-Fressia, Allyson, Lauren, Farrah, Coren; Front row - Kristy and Diana

Back row-Allyson, Farrah, Lauren, Coren; Front row-Fressia, Kristy and Diana

It's time for the next installment of my special Flashback Fridays. It's still not too late to post
a comment.

OK Di-ana it's your turn. This is what Diana said, "You know I look at your blog and I sometimes comment...please don't post any frizzy hair photos of me". Sure Diana. No problem. Let me just pull one of those out of my booty. Just kidding! This was no easy task though. I couldn't find any good pictures of you. I packed away all my scrapbooks when I was packing stuff away to put the house up for sale and apparently all the good pictures I have of you are scrapbooked. So let me just tell ya. I had to go under my stairs, scary, and move about 10 boxes to find these.

I really couldn't find the one from Farrah's wedding that I wanted. It is a picture of a bunch of us, after the wedding is over. We are all standing around the cake and we are picking chunks of the cake off and eating it with our fingers. I know you are in it because I can see the expression on your face. Anyway, we all started throwing cake at each other and my dad starts to yell, "I PAID $$$$$$ FOR THAT CAKE!!!! STOP THROWING IT AROUND LIKE THAT!!!" That was a freakin' expensive cake, by the way, Farrah.

Anyway. In case anyone is interested in how I know Diana, we grew up in the same ward together. She has 2 sisters, Coren and Alicia. She and her sisters and my sisters Farrah and Kristy and I were all good friends growing up and still are today.

And I might as well say it now or she will be mad at me. Coren is pregnant at Kristy's wedding. And do y'all remember those glittery bridesmaid dresses? We left glitter everywhere. I remember people at the reception had glitter all over them and people would say, "Oh, you must have been hugging a bridesmaid". My parents house had glitter all over for a week after.

Jump In

Yesterday was a holiday in these here parts. It was the 24th of July, AKA Pioneer Day, AKA the day the Mormon pioneers 1st arrived in the Salt Lake Valley. It is a state holiday so everyone had the day off, excepting those who are self employed or are building their own house. Poor honey. He works so hard. I decided to wake up sick. Fun. Sore throat, stuffy, and very very very very very tired. The kids and I were very lazy yesterday. We finally decided to turn the TV off and get out of bed around 10:40 AM to eat breakfast. Hey, it was a holiday and I was sick. We have a neighborhood pool and we went swimming for a few hours. Then we went to my mom's house to eat dinner with her and my sister Lauren and my grandmother who is visiting from Dallas. I love the picture of Aubrey jumping in the pool.

Countdown To 400 - #1: Something's Not Quite Adding Up

This feels very anti-climatic. My 400th post. Or is it....? When I look on my dashboard it says I have 399 posts. Or it did before I started this one. But if you go to my sidebar and add up my 1 post from 2006, 245 from 2007, and 154 from 2008.....I just.....get...another.....number. After I post this it will actually add up to be 401. So YEAHHHHHHH! My 400th post was really #2 in my countdown! go 400....woo hoo.....
