Thinkin' Thursday - Read My Lipstick

I am ever so very tired so this is gonna be quick and easy (yeah, easy until I start getting comments on it).

YES! If there is going to be a woman in the White House I am glad it will be Sarah Palin. I think McCain made an excellent choice.

I have not stopped laughing at Democrats (except for the ones near and dear to my heart, I have much better reasons to laugh at you) & the media since she was announced as VP pick.

Have you heard the kinds of things they are saying? They are just grasping at straws. It cracks me up. Seriously.

The one that kills me the most is when they talk about her lack of experience. I..dah..wa...a...ya...tha...arrrgh....I don't even know what say. How.....how....how....what....I mean....does that make any sense to you what so ever?

Seriously.

I thought this comparison chart was interesting.

Let's see......what else has me laughing tonight? I was listening to a commentator after McCain gave his speech. He was talking about how McCain was going on and on about being a war hero. He said something like: Democrats won't give him a hard time about that like Republicans did to John Kerry. I can't even type I'm laughing so hard. John Kerry's a war hero because....????

Oops. There it goes. My Thinkin' Thursday went and got all political again.

Not commenting. Not engaging. So...hard...hate...Sarah...Palin... :-)

I don't mind McCain so much. But I have an extreme aversion to Palin.

Nanny. You made me laugh. You showed great restraint though. I meant to tell you that I like the owl comforter much better on the bed than just seeing it without the bed. How are you doing? Are you having fun?

Thank you! I do love my owl comforter. It looks really cool in my dorm room. One of these days I promise I'll get pictures up of everything...though there are a few on facebook tagged as me, I think?

I'm doing great and having SO much fun. Ridiculous amounts of fun. Classes start Monday, though, so come back and ask me in a week and we'll see if I change my answer... :-)

I feel she is relatable.(sp?) I was listening to the radio and they were jaunting about her pregant teen daughter and her ability to lead a nation. A caller called in and said I can tell you, it is probably easier to control an entire country than a teenage girl. AMEN! She will do just fine. I was NOT excited about McCain, but I am now.

Ahhhhh okay I can't resist anymore. I'm briefly (and hopefully politely) jumping in. I do admire Palin for how gracefully she's dealt with all the crap that's been thrown her way. And I don't judge her at all for her daughter, as many dems do. The issue I have with her is her extremist beliefs, which is just a personal preference/choice/opinion.

I have really been watching this mess as much as I can because this election scares me. Well, it did until I saw her speech the other night. I was undecided because in all honesty, I didn't care to see Obama or McCain and I liked Obama even less after his acceptance speech. I was honestly considering givin my vote to Barr, but I don't think I will do that now. I am afraid that Obama will will only for the fact that he is black and not because of his abilities and experience. The only reason I say that is because I know quite a few black people who are saying he has their vote, but when asked what they liked about him, they come up with nothing. Sad to think that race will be a factor in the election. People should know the facts before they vote. Sorry, I am done ranting

I also wasn't real thrilled with McCain either. But don't vote for Barr, that is like throwing your vote away! McCain needs all the votes he can get! And that is because I don't like Obama. For his extremist beliefs, just to name one little tiny thing among about 500,000.

I want someone to ask her this question: "As the VP of the United States you will also be the president of the senate. One of your main responsibilities will be to cast the deciding vote any time there is a 50-50 tie. If a bill for equal pay for women, which John McCain has repeatedly voted against, ends up in a tie how will you cast your deciding vote?"

Ally,
This has nothing to do with this, but when is your house going to be done? I want to see pictures of it?

The best indicator of of future behavior is past behavior, so based on her past behavior I would say that Sarah isn't going to cast a vote to please anyone, she is going to vote her conscience. Wouldn't that be both interesting and refreshing, to have someone in Washington with a conscience?

And if past behavior is the best indicator of future behavior....
If you were Barack Hussein Obama and you made all kinds of promises that you were going to be The One to unite the two parties, yet you had the most liberal voting record in history, how exactly would you plan to fulfill that promise?

Let's see....how many other things has he done in the past that should scare the holy living crap out of
people?.......

Oh, and my house should hopefully be done in about a month, give or take. Probably give.

First, Ally, I love you and respect your opinion.

The only thing I have a problem with is the comparison chart you referenced. Which I found to be extremely biased, it omitted key facts, completely skewed the facts it did reference, and included irrelevant information which was almost satirical.

I totally missed the John Kerry comment earlier when I posted. First, let me say, I don't care for him, but he was awarded a Silver Star- in my book and many others along with the government he served, he IS a war hero, although not close to the extent McCain was. He still was and is a hero.

That really is no laughing matter. Anyone who goes to war, serves their country honorably, risks their life is a hero! He was also awarded the Purple Heart along with the Silver Star. How can you laugh at that?

Republicans did give him a hard time during the election with the whole swift boat ads. Which turned out most of the men were lying, and later admitted so much along with the fact that some of them weren't even there.

Like I said, I am not a fan of John Kerry, but I think it sad how quick we are to forget.

Everyone's being so polite.

Farrah, yes I know that chart is extremely biased, and I knew it when I posted it. I did have it actually posted in the main body of my post but then decided to just post the link for that reason. I knew you were going to call me out on it so I very much meant to say something about it but it was late, I was tired, and I got sidetracked.

As for the John Kerry comment, yes, you are right. It isn't a laughing matter. Just the way the commentator said it, right after hearing McCain speak about his experience, it did srtike me as funny at that moment.

I know war heros. The ones I know are of a very different caliber than John Kerry. My brother-in-law who just got home from Iraq from his second tour there was awared a purple heart and a bornze star. I guess when I think of a hero, a different image comes to mind. But you are right, John Kerry did serve our country and fought in a war and that is more than most people can say.

Thanks for the chart, I had heard alot of this, but it was good to read it again. I like it when you "get political"!
