Monday Morning Musings - Actually Mused On Monday Morning

PA AND MA'S YARD SALE

(I just found this picture. I guess mine could have been worse.)

I had a garage sale on Saturday. Stupidest thing I have ever done. First of all, I had way too much stuff. It took me and my whole family almost 2 hours just to carry everything outside. Second of all there are a lot of other things I would rather do (which I won't mention on this blog) to make a stinkin' $300 dollars, it was SOOOOOOO not worth the effort. Third of all, it was STUPID. I was so ready to have a nervous breakdown when it was over and I looked at all the stuff left that I had to pack up and haul away. Then I had a brilliant thought. The last hour I should have said, "$5 for anything you can fit in your car". That would have cleared a bunch out. Unfortunately that thought didn't occur to me until AFTER everyone had left. STUPID. My mom said she would slap me if I ever mentioned having a garage sale ever again. I personally don't think that will be a problem.

My dear mom and sister. What would I have done without them? My mom made the 1 hour round trip Saturday morning just to buy treats from my kids at their snack table. Then she and Lauren made it again that night when I was about to lose it all, they helped me pack up, fed the kids, bathed the kids, and then my mom went to pick up dinner for me and Steve. I might still be out in the front yard crying today if it wasn't for them.

I kept thinking to myself, I know other people have garage sales and don't fall apart. What is my problem? Then I got a little visitor that night. That explains it all. At least I'm not completely crazy all on my own.

For some reason, my husband thinks it is really funny to come home from church and leave his black church socks on, pulled all the way up, while he is wearing shorts. I don't think it is amusing, and I have to be seen with him. If we go on a walk, he goes that way. If we go to my mom's house, he goes that way. If someone comes to our house, they are blessed with that image seared into their brain.

Aubrey was very upset the other day. She didn't know what to do. She was struggling with what she wants to be when she grows up. Her choices are: Superhero, Mommy, or Doctor. I told her she could be all 3 (I mean, just look at me). She was very relieved. I could tell a lot of stress had been lifted off her shoulders.

I bought new hairspray last week. It smells so strong. It is a good smell, in small, SMALL doses. I am about to puke right now. I might have to go wash my hair for a second time this morning.

Ally- you are crazy for having a garage sale. You should have just donated it all and written it off. You would have done better that way. I think things would have been the same whether you had the visitor or not.

Steve is such a dork.

Aubrey the superhero doctor mom. Tell her being a doctor or a mom automatically makes her a superhero.

Farrah, are you saying I AM that crazy on my own? Zac did tell me I belong in an insane asylum just a few minutes ago.

He is a dork, but that's why I love him.

I am not throwing the hairspray away! That stupid can cost $7. I am taking it back.

Kathy- DON'T DO IT!

Joey does the same thing with his sunday socks. Now that he is working at a firm in Fort Worth I get to enjoy this every day except for Saturday!

i am sorry about the garage sale thing-I don't know that I will have one of those. I just sale stuff I can make money off of on craigslist.

You should use the money to spoil yourself.

OOh! Gotta love a garage sale! I never knew they were such a hassle, so thanks for the heads up!

On socks...Jake wears church sock all the time-literally all the time. He snowboards in them, wears them with jeans, you name it! Men are so random...

I have had 2 garage sales. I sold pretty much everything, it WAS a lot of work. I did it with friends, so it was kinda fun.

I really do not ever want to do it again. I am pretty much hoping our storage unit just burns down so I can have the money.

I have decided to just make my blog private for the time being. If you want an invite email me at 3littleprincesses@gmail.com. No pressure.
