YAY!!!! I can't tell you how excited and proud I am! Zac had his Eagle Board of Review last night and he passed and he is now and Eagle Scout!
For his project he replaced netting on a blind at a bird refuge.
He has been working hard to finish his project by the end of the year because 2012 is the 100 year anniversary of the Eagle and they have a special patch this year to mark the centennial. We were operating under the belief that if his project was finished before the end of the year that was enough to qualify for the centennial patch. But a week ago we found out that all the paper work had to be processed and he had to have his board of review and turn those papers in to the scout office and then that would be the completion date. This is a process that usually takes 4 weeks! ARGHHHHH! All that hard work and big push for nothing! But we were able to hand deliver the papers to the 2 different offices they had to go through and wait for them to stamp their approval on them. Then we brought them home with us and with the help of some awesome leaders we were able to set up his Board of Review with 1 day notice. He passed his Board of Review last night and his papers are being hand delivered today! (We have learned that all the paperwork stuff is almost as hard as the project. For reals!)
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! To everyone who helped with this endeavor. Zac did not get here alone. We have the BEST Scout leaders in our ward. The BEST boys in our Troop. And thank you to everyone who donated to his project to help purchase the netting! And Congratulations to my Eagle Scout! I am so proud of you!
WOO HOO! WE ARE DONE!!!
And now to plan the Court of Honor.... (I guess you are never really done)
