The boys spent the morning decoding the phrase on the back of the Honey Nut Cheerios box. Then we all got ready to venture out into the world.
Our first stop was the St. Louis Temple. Steve and I had wanted to take our oldest two children there to do baptisms while we were in town, but because our trip fell over a weekend and then a Monday leading into holiday, it was not open for business while we were there. So we settled on the next best thing. Standing outside the temple taking pictures. Click here to lean more about Mormon Temples.
Our next stop was the St. Louis Science Center. That is where we spent the rest of the day. Our first stop in the Science Center was the restroom where my girls washed their hands about 5 times each. They had one of those cool hand washing stations where you stick your hands in and it runs all the cycles automatically. Water, soap, water, dryer. Seriously. I had to drag them out of the bathroom with promises that there would be more cool awesome stuff to see in the remainder of the building.
This bridge has always been one of my kids favorites. It connects one part of the Science Center with the other part that is across the freeway. The bridge goes over the freeway and there are windows in the floor so you can watch cars pass under you. There are also binoculars and radars so you can see how fast cars are going.
And of course we couldn't leave the Science Center without a spin on the giant hamster wheel. the hamster wheel makes the contraption you see in the background of the below picture move.
Addy and Aubrey Emily and Meagan
Reagan and Aubrey Tyler and Austin
Zac and Asher Spencer
Every time we cross bridges my kids have to hold their breath, cross their fingers, lift up their arms and pick their feet up. For the duration of the crossing.
Back at the house to hang out.
I really have no recollection of how this apron came to be on my head.
As promised, Heather made deer roast for dinner. We ate the most deliciousness that night. Deer roast, garlic mashed potatoes, corn casserole and sweet peas.
We just spent the rest of the night hanging out. As usual when we are with Steve's family, we had a late bedtime the whole time we were there. When we are all together we are usually up (all of us, even the oldest and youngest) until 2 or 3 AM. We can't help ourselves. We start talking and playing games and we just enjoy each others company so much we don't want to stop and go to bed. Our best times together are in the wee hours of the morning.
