Spontaneous St. Louis, Day 5: New Year's Eve

Tuesday, December 31, 2013
After staying up so late the night before, we slept in.  Later that week my Sister-in-Law Sheila's Father was going to be having surgery.  He uses a wood burning stove to heat his house and would be unable to chop wood for a time after his surgery.  So we sent all the men folk off for a day of chopping and stacking wood.  I honestly have no recollection of what the girls did.

That afternoon we drove in to St. Charles (Steve's hometown) for pizza and a hockey game.  These girls used the drive as prime nap time.

We all met up at Imo's Pizza (because no trip to St. Louis would be complete without a little I'mo's).  Sierra had two of her BFF's join us for the evening.  They were cute girls and fit right in with all our craziness.

We took up almost the whole dining area.

Then we were off to the St. Charles Chill Hockey Game where we took up two rows.  Thank you Operation Homefront for the free tickets!

Then it was back to the Hobbitses house for games, food and family fun.

Totally my new favorite game!  Dominion.  My kids were making fun of me for playing a "nerd" game.  I want to buy it so I can play but sadly, I don't think anyone here would play it with me....

The New Year Count Down

Happy New Year!
I had to include this picture to embarrass/gross my kids out.

You give a bunch of Mormon kids some half empty bottles of sparkling cider after midnight and suddenly you have a house full of would be winos on your hands.

Just makin' plans for the future of mankind

Everyone at the table was singing along until I brought the camera out.  I told them when they started singing this song that I would punch anyone singing it.  None of them seemed too scared of my threat and continued to sing.  I figured if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.  So I sang along too!

I think it was around 3 AM when we finally called it a night.  Again we had a huge slumber party at the Hobb's house.
