When my parents were living in Dallas it was tradition for everyone to converge upon their house every Thanksgiving (my father was smart and found a way to insure all his daughter would be home for this one holiday).
Thanksgiving in Dallas was definitely a mans holiday. It began with the annual Turkey Bowl football game they played that morning, followed by a feast to end all feasts, followed by attendance at the Cowboys game (all while the women folk were left to cook and clean and take care of the youngins).
Unfortunately for the boys, this ritual ended with my parents departure from their native Texas.
I am looking at this picture and it is so green and sunny and warm looking there for Thanksgiving. That would be nice. It makes me want to be there right now. In that very spot, on that very street. (Nostalgic sniff, sniff)

Look at Bart he is the only one with a jacket on.
Hee hee hee. It's the red one too.
Your daddy is a very smart man! What better way to get out of cleaning then to say, "sorry, we have tickets."
Oh Diana, that's all his ego needs.
Is for people to be posting about his intelligence.
Sorry I hit enter before I was finished typing.
I laughed about the Bart comment!
Thanksgiving used to be the perfect day for Bart. It is still pretty close to perfect but no more going to the game. I think he will start that tradition with our son's soon.
But I hear everyone is coming to my house this year because Sam will be home. Are you coming too Ally?
no brag just facts baby!
Oh no, look what I started...
If everyone is here for thanksgiving we should do a sisters lunch!
Farrah, I think that is the plan. I am excited. It has been a long time since I have been there.
Coren, that would be fun.
Thanks a lot Diana.
Dad....sigh...whatever.
I guess Earl needs to go ahead and get some tickets!
Yes, a sisters lunch would be SOOOO much fun. I already want to come over for y'alls Thanksgiving leftovers...Kristy needs to make some fudge.
I think it should be a sisters lunch/pedicure/day at the spa kind of thing. I mean, if the boys get to go to the dang Cowboys game....
